We are a small non profit community group working in Deal and Walmer area. Our aim is to help disabled and non disabled people who find it difficult to speak up for themselves.
We would love to receive information from local residents or visitors who have found barriers, either physical or attitudinal, which have prevented them from accessing buildings, goods or services.

Ongoing Projects
Making a Difference
Deal Speaking up Group is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before, and we are very proud of the progress we continue to make. Below are some of our most recent projects. Learn more about what we do, who we help, and how we work every day to create a lasting impact.
Safer crossings
The Deal Speaking Up Group are working alongside Deal Town Council Transport committee to identify 3 locations for pedestrian crossings.
Better Access For All
The Deal Speaking up Group have been working with Deal Town Councillors to identify issues where accessibility can be improved
Our Achievements
2014
In 2014 The Deal Speaking Up Group were funded by Deal Town Council to carry out an accessible audit of the High Street, this was to determine how accessible shops, restaurants and amenities were.
2016
We worked with Walmer Town Council and Dover District Council to have an accessible toilet built adjacent to the paddling pool. This enables disabled people to enjoy band concerts and activities on Walmer Green without worrying about the distance to the nearest accessible toilet.
